A detailed report by Greenpeace that analyses the water demands of coal power plants in drought affected regions of India, a country which has 4% of water resources but more than 17% of the worlds’ population. It illustrates that long term planning of water resources is necessary to prevent severe droughts. Coal power plants are one of most water-intensive industrial users of fresh water across the world and in India.
